Arrived in Jakarta with Evy late Friday night the 16th of August, Erief and Ibu picked us up.
Spent two nights in Jakarta. Got a massage, got the crack in my phone screen repaired, had Padang for lunch with Nenek and Jajan.
Headed off to Bandung for one night. We had lunch with Erief, Maya and Sayna at a modern Sundanese restaurant was pleasant.
In the evening, we met with Henney, her husband and I think daughter, Paldy and Hans at a traditional Sundanese restaurant.
On Monday at 0330hrs we headed off to Pameungpeuk, Evy and Erief in the car and me on the bike. Didn’t get lost this time and was a good ride without any risks, traffic was good.
However, where the road starts getting rough after the Gunung Papandayan turn off the phone holder dislodged from where it was wedged under the visor. I stupidly ignored this issue and then the phone came out of the holder.
I stopped the bike and thought it may have gotten stuck in the bike frame, but I couldn’t see it, was still a bit dark. I walked back down the road and couldn’t find it. I had given up on it but when it got lighter, I found it wedged down in the motor.
Stopped out my usual stop up in the rain forest after the tea plantations and had some breakfast with Evy and Erief.

Surf first day:
I am so unfit and can’t surf for nuts. Have brought a longboard with me this time and a good thing as well. We went to Sancang beach break for the first two day, waves were actually quite good on the high tide but the close out sets sapped my energy.
Evy and Erief left as Evy had a Uni reunion. Surf was 5-7 ft that day, so I gave it a miss too big for me in my condition. Went back to the beach break again the next day, was good again and I am starting to feel a bit fitter. On Saturday the 24th of August took the long board out to Sancang main break and had a good surf, conditions were perfect, waves were forecasted as being 3-4ft+, was more like 4-5ft.
